Before we discuss the difference of the Western Civilizations we must first understand what countries fall under it. According to Kurth (2004), West includes countries such as United States, Europe, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.
But how do they classify as the west?
Colonization from an early period, the belief system of Christianity (Judeo-Christian and Greco-Roman), cultural norms (Dr. Harris, Dr. Zucker, n.d.). To make things simple I will be comparing the United States to other countries.
To name a few things that the States are quite segregated from other names is their economic system, metric system, dinner timings, but also their diversity (Top Differences Between the USA and the Rest of the World, 2019). The United States has been dubbed the melting point, we can see many different cultures, religious individuals, nationalities from other countries settling in the States. In a way that is what makes their economy unique (eNotes Editorial, 2015).
The United States is notoriously known for its use of heavy artillery and weapons, making them the highest country to invest capital in defense. But, that is not all that sets the United States apart from other countries (McNeil, 2019). With lot of newer innovations, conventions, and companies being built in the States it has become one of the most centralized hub for events and cooperations (Best of America: 14 of the best events and festivals 2020, 2020).
Albeit, in recent times the country has been suffering tremendous economic loss and damage to its various sectors (Stewart, 2020). But, it is also important to note that multi-national companies such as Microsoft, Apple, McDonald's, KFC, eBay, Amazon, Intel all pay the way for the development of the country. These brands inherently define the country in many ways such as its popularity and reliability.
Hollywood also makes the United States pristine when it comes to Entertainment & Art's. As many movie superstars and musicians reside in the States it is known for its tremendous popularity. REFERENCES:
